Echocardiography and Stress Echocardiography
Cardiac Specialists offers adult transthoracic echocardiography
to aid in the diagnosis of all adult cardiac conditions including
ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, and
congenital heart disease. Our laboratory is accredited by the ICAEL,
which is the national organization responsible for maintenance of
standards in the performance of echocardiography. As such, we are
one of the few labs in Fairfield to achieve this prestigious goal.
Our technologists are all certified cardiovascular technologists and
our ultrasound machines are equipped with the latest technology.
We also offer stress echocardiography to aid in the diagnosis of
ischemic heart disease and to help manage various cardiac conditions
where the heart’s response to stress is key to decision making.
Examples of this include management of valvular heart disease and
diagnosis of unexplained dyspnea. We have one of the largest
clinical experiences locally in utilizing this important technology.
Lastly, our physicians are highly experienced in all forms of
echocardiography and have maintained both continuing education in
this area as well as have taken and passed tests to define expertise
in cardiac ultrasound.
