Dr. Robert Fishman
named 'Physician of the Year'
Dr. Robert Fishman, a member of Cardiac
Specialists for more than 10 years, has been named Bridgeport Hospital
'Physician of the Year.' This is based upon the input of the many patients
he has cared for at the hospital and the opinions of his medical colleagues.
Dr. Robert Fishman
receives certification in Endovascular Medicine from the American Board
of Vascular Medicine. This
certifies specialized training in treating patients with peripheral
vascular disease - patients with blockages in the arteries and veins
in the legs which might prevent them from walking, in the kidneys which
may cause poorly controlled blood pressure and impaired kidney function,
and the arteries in the neck which can cause stroke. He, along with
Dr. Edward Tuohy and Dr. Robert Timmermans, are expertly trained to
diagnose these problems, treat them medically, and perform interventions
to restore normal blood flow without resorting to risky surgery.
